  • Overview

    Provide technical assistance and operational support to the Applications Development Department.  While this position will have many diverse responsibilities, the incumbent’s primary function will be to perform the operational tasks necessary to comply with the contract reporting requirements for external entities such as the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH), Signal, CORHIO, etc.  These tasks are commonly referred to as State Reporting and Meaningful Use Attestation.


    • Understand the contract/reporting/data requirements of the external entities with which there are contract reporting obligations
    • Work with the appropriate staff to interpret and clarify any uncertainties in contract/reporting/data requirements
    • Participate in relevant State Reporting and Meaningful Use calls/meetings
    • Stay current on contract/reporting/data requirement changes  
    • Produce electronic files of required information extracted from the data collection points - includes CCAR, DACOD, meaningful use, Community Crisis Connection (CCC), Evidence Based Practice (EBP), and encounter information  
    • Submit accurate electronic files to the various appropriate reporting sites within the required timeframe (most submissions are required monthly)
    • Run the electronic file creation error reports and resolve issues identified by the error reports and resubmit corrected data
    • Determine root cause and solutions for consistent patterns of data issues
    • Coordinate and communicate with other departments regarding data corrections and improvements in data quality
    • Work with other technical staff to enhance the functionality of forms, consoles, widgets, and reports related to improving data quality within the EHR
    • Perform testing to ensure forms, consoles, widgets, and reports meet the required specifications
    • Correct inaccurate data in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) using the appropriate correction forms (commonly referred to as data repairs)
    • Provide administrative and operational support as needed to the Application Development Department


      Other Duties:

    • Work on special projects as directed by the Applications Development Director


    • Associate Degree or higher in Computer Science, Business, or related field, with two or more years of relevant Information Systems or demonstrated competency with EHR functionality
    • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
    • Experience with data manipulation and importing/exporting electronic files
    • Excellent communication and writing skills
    • Superior customer service skills
    • Ability to prioritize work
    • Both the ability to work independently and the ability to work well with others 
    • Working knowledge of myAvatar EHR system a plus
    • Experience with SQL a plus
    • Experience testing software a plus
    • Experience working with 837 files a plus
