  • Overview


    To provide individual, couples and family psychotherapy to clients of the Insured Services program. To work with Insured Services and Practice Management departments to establish a successful program that meets the needs and requirements of contracted insurance companies and other third party payers.

    This position will be based in a Jefferson Center office location, which will be determined after taking into account a reasonable length of commute for the ideal candidate.



    • Provides individual, couples, or family treatment to insured, third party clients.
    • Provides individual assessments and develops individualized treatment plans.
    • Actively engages client (or family) in the treatment process and goal setting. Identifies risk factors including lethality.  Works constructively with consumers to reach agreed upon outcome, and actively coordinates care with other internal or external providers. Maintains appropriate professional standards and provides timely, appropriate follow-up for clients.
    • Acknowledges and works with Insured Services and Practice Management to meet or exceed billable hour targets.
    • Maintains good client satisfaction and works with Insured Services to assist ongoing survey and assessment of client satisfaction.
    • Completes necessary paperwork for billing purposes within the necessary timeframe.
    • Review Co-Pay requirement for clients served and discuss outstanding balances with clients when necessary.
    • Completes necessary reports and documentation (including accurate treatment codes) in order to successfully submit claims for services rendered.
    • Effectively responds to the client and the 3rd Party Payer regarding needs and problems. Initiates and maintains positive interactions, timely response to phone calls, email and other requests.

    Other Duties:

    • Satisfy the continuing competency training required to maintain and renew Colorado license through internal training schedule and program offerings.
    • Manage a Scheduling Calendar, continually assess capacity for new clients and maintain an active caseload with clients at various stages of treatment cycle.
    • Discharge clients in a timely manner in accordance with department policy.

    Colorado license for independent practice and eligibility for participation on managed care panels (LPC; LCSW; LMFT; Ph.D., or Psy.D).  Experience in effectively engaging clients and forming strong therapeutic alliances to support treatment.  Experience in general practice serving clients across all age ranges with the ability to serve a broad scope of acuity and severity in an office based outpatient service model is preferred.  Knowledge and experience in a managed behavioral health care model with the ability to follow guidelines and procedures established by practice management to meet 3rd party payer requirements is preferred. Ability to practice in an independent model with skills in diagnosis, treatment planning, psychotherapeutic intervention, documentation, communication, and coordination with other treating professionals.  Clinician already credentialed on 3rd party panels who contract with Jefferson Center is highly desirable.


    Knowledge of expectations and procedures and ability to work collaboratively and cooperatively with insurance organizations that contract with Jefferson Center.
