  • Overview



    Jefferson Center’s Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist will work on our LAUNCH Together team where you will provide community facing consultation and training, connect with partner programs to further our initiative goals, and provide direct clinical work. As the Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist you will have direct experience working with children (0-3 years old), mothers in their third trimester, and families promoting childhood and family wellbeing by providing in-home education and clinical services as indicated. You will collaborate with partner organizations and community members to develop and provide reflective consultation and training as the expert in infant and early childhood mental health and wellbeing.  You will be an active team member, ready to jump in to support our public events, manage multiple assignments efficiently, leveraging your intuition, innovation, and strong initiative ensuring deadlines are achieved.  This is an exciting time in the early childhood field and our LAUNCH program will provide an opportunity to a broader voice in early childhood work.


    • Establish trusting relationships that support providers, caregiver(s) and the infant/young child relationship.
    • Educate parent(s), caregiver(s) and young children together, primarily in the home, with a 2-Generation prevention focus, and provide interventions that will enhance caregiver knowledge and experience.
    • Provide supported education to caregivers, promoting health, language acquisition, cognitive, and social-emotional development in early childhood.
    • Provide families with complete screenings and assessments around social emotional and early childhood development, parent/infant interaction, and pregnancy-related depression; provide developmental guidance and intervention as indicated.
    • Actively assist families in referral process to clinical and community services, including follow-up.
    • Write, design, and coordinate training materials for internal and external audiences as it relates to the LAUNCH initiative.
    • Work at both the big-picture and detail levels so that your work promotes Jefferson Center’s strategic plan, is well written, and representative of the quality of care we provide.
    • You will continually strive for self-improvement and be motivated to learn new skills and leverage information to benefit Jefferson Center and the LAUNCH team.
    • You will continually improve your clinical, public speaking, interpersonal, organizational, and deadline management skills.


    • A Colorado LCSW or LPC in good standing.
    • A resilient, intuitive and versatile person who enjoys their work with proven experience promoting an organization with multiple audience demographics.
    • Bilingual Spanish preferred.
    • Experienced mental health clinician who has direct experience working with expecting mothers, children from 0-3 years of age and families of diverse backgrounds.
    • A Masters’ degree in Social Work, Counseling, or related field with an infant and early childhood specialization.
    • Self-starter with confidence to provide community facing presentations and trainings on early childhood wellbeing and mental health.
    • Skilled, relationship builder who can provide in-home direct care for families, reflective consultation for early childhood providers, promote LAUNCH in the community, and garner and maintain community partner relationships.
    • Positive person who provides responsive customer service and is able to work well with a variety of personalities and disciplines.
